SQL Encryption Assistant Professional 2008 Edition Includes all the features of the 2005 edition for SSMS 2008. Two new features included are Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and Extensible Key Management (EKM). TDE performs real-time I/O encryption and decryption of the data and log files. EKM enables parts of the cryptographic key hierarchy to be managed by an external source such as Hardware Security Module (HSM), referred to as a cryptographic provider.
